Hi there! My name is Jinny Baxter and I am a new writer! Well, not entirely. I have written magazine and newspaper articles for years, and the dreadful SOP’s. (Standard Operating Procedure) I’ve also written newsletters for my work place and short stories for my many generations of kids. You see, I always wanted to write a book and many things have gotten in the way.
I know, I know, if it’s in your blood, nothing will stop you, right? Well, yes it will. I won’t bore you with the particulars, but I promise, it was just impossible for me to take that final step.
Now, here I am in my seventh decade finally getting it done! I’ve written a nice, clean little mystery with a ghost and bad guys and heart ache. I don’t want to give away the whole thing, but I will say I have touched on something you may hear occasionally on the news, or maybe even know a victim. I wanted to tell the story of a man bedeviled by his memories of abuse as a boy, and how it prevented him from living a full life. We hear it about girls all the time, but boys and men tend to keep it to themselves, ashamed of their inability to stop it. Seth’s exploration of his ancestors seems to only prove that he is from bad stock, and he often feels that he will never know love or peace. His story is called “An August Affair”.
